The Truckload Carriers Association will hold its annual Safety and Security Division Meeting May 18-20 at the Westin Charlotte Hotel in Charlotte, N.C.


The agenda for the 2008 meeting includes "Accident Prevention - Learning from Mistakes," "Nuts and Bolts of Mediating," "Employment - Empty Trucks vs. Liability Risks," and "Depositions - Know What to Expect, How to Prepare and the Value of Good vs. Bad Information." Other topics will include driver wellness, CSA 2010, and the value of return to work programs. A technology panel will address various technologies and their impact on fleets and drivers. An FMCSA representative will update attendees on the latest regulations and happenings at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

In addition to the speakers and workshops, the Safety & Security Division Meeting will offer two carrier-to-carrier roundtable discussions "Safety in the Round" and "Security in the Round." The discussions will utilize the collective knowledge of the participants to solve common safety management, human resources, security, claims, and loss prevention issues.

The meeting will also feature a golf tournament, exhibition, themed event and several receptions.
