Earl E. Congdon, executive chairman of the board of Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. said Monday that Old Dominion would purchase selected assets of Bob's Pickup & Delivery headquartered in Sidney, Mont. Bob's Pickup & Delivery
produces about $10 million dollars in sales annually through its network of 13 service centers in Montana and North Dakota.
Effective this Friday, Old Dominion will add to its current route structure the 12 Bob's terminal operations in the state of Montana and combine the Bismarck, N.D. facility, thus increasing the ODFL network to 204 service centers. Through the acquisition, Old Dominion Freight Line will now provide direct coverage to every state in the continental United States.
Congdon said, "This transaction enhances our current nationwide service offering and provides our customers with 100 percent full state coverage to Montana. Old Dominion customers will receive improvements to an already comprehensive OD-Domestic product offering with the additional direct service offering."
Old Dominion Freight Line is a national LTL carrier with multi-regional and inter-regional service and growing global footprint. Domestically, OD provides inter-regional and regional less-than-truckload shipping of general commodities, consumer goods and capital goods to a diversified customer base in the continental United States.
