Castrol Tection is launching the third annual Extra Big Honkin' Truck Makeover contest where truck drivers nationwide will be given another chance to win a total internal, external and communications makeover valued at $50,000.

From now until Oct. 31, 2007, Class 6-8 owners and owner-operators are encouraged to go to www.castroltruckmakeover.com to learn more about the contest and enter their truck to win.
Entrants will be required to submit a vehicle photo and a 150-word essay describing why his or her truck deserves the makeover.
"The Big Honkin' Truck Makeover is Castrol's way of recognizing that an owner-operator's truck is critical to his or her business," said Tracy Drelich, assistant promotions manager with Castrol. "We are searching the nation for the driver who is most deserving of the coveted prize, someone who lives for being on the road and wants to drive in style."
The first round of contest entries will be judged based on originality, creativity, relevance of essay to theme and photographic appeal. Three finalists will then be selected by Castrol and The Chrome Shop Mafia™ to advance into the final round. The final round of judging starts with online voting on the contest web site, where site visitors can register and cast their vote for the grand prize winner from Jan. 1, 2008 through Feb. 28, 2008. Voting concludes at the Mid-America Trucking Show (March 27-28, 2008) where show attendees will have the opportunity to cast their vote at Castrol Tection Extra booth. The grand prize winner will then be announced at a media event on the final day of the show, March 29, 2008.
Castrol will also be unveiling the winning truck of the second annual Big Honkin' Truck Makeover contest. Kevin Greene, from Cincinnati, Ohio, and his 1989 379 Peterbilt beat out nearly 300 entrants to win the grand prize of a $50,000 one-of-a-kind truck makeover from The Chrome Shop Mafia.
