Truck drivers traveling along I-25 near Fort Collins, Colo., will have a new rest area facility to utilize, which will provide for more truck parking in a safer location. The new facility will be located southwest
of the Prospect Road interchange in Fort Collins at milepost 268, replacing the current facility located off I-25 just north of the Harmony Road interchange.
The new facility can accommodate approximately 25 trucks at a time as opposed to the eight or 10 trucks the old facility could handle. This increase will benefit nearly 7,000 trucks that travel this portion of I-25 every day.
With the opening of the new facility, CDOT has closed the rest area just north of Harmony Road. This means that the ramps from I-25 to the rest area facilities will be completely closed to the public. Access to the Colorado State Patrol building will still be available from the northbound ramps.
The new rest area facility is just one of 31 Colorado rest areas that CDOT maintains.
