Granger, Iowa-based Barr-Nunn Transportation has announced it is adding more auxiliary power units (APU) to trucks operated by the company’s driver teams.

These new APUs will go a long way toward saving fuel costs, overcoming new anti-idling laws and helping the environment.
APUs can reduce idling by up to 90 percent, saving thousands of dollars annually in fuel costs, while providing Barr-Nunn drivers with air conditioning, heating, enhanced electrical current, battery charging and a warm engine.
Since 1982, Barr-Nunn has grown to a fleet of nearly 675 tractors, 1,800 trailers and more than 500 customers nationwide.
