Decker Truck Line has announced that Daniel Welsh has been selected as the October 2006 Driver/Owner-Operator of the Month for the Flatbed division. Welsh lives in Pittsburgh, Pa., and has been with Decker since March 1, 2002.
Selected as Driver of the Month for the Reefer/Van division was Mark Palm. Mark and his wife, Dorene, reside in Centralia, Mo. Mark started as a company driver in June of 1995 and two years later bought a truck and became an owner-operator leased to Decker Truck Lines.
Drivers and owner-operators are nominated each month by their dispatcher, and are selected based on their overall performance within all areas of the company; including operational productivity, safety record, maintenance/care of equipment (including idle time), payroll and billing, and customer service. All drivers and owner-operators who are selected as a Driver of the Month will be eligible to be chosen as Driver/Owner-Operator of the Year.
