Mike Ryan will display his hand-built Mercedes Benz-powered Freightliner Century Class S/T Super Truck at The Truck Show Latino Saturday and Sunday at the Fairplex in Pomona, Calif.

Built specifically for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb held annually in Colorado Springs, Colo., Ryan set his sixth world record this year, finishing with a time of 12.43.66.
The race truck engine is a 1,250-horsepower Mercedes Benz with 2,700 pounds-feet of torque. It is equipped with a ZF 5-speed transmission and modified for racing. The suspension is a four-link front end and a three-link rear end, much like a sprint car. Weighing 8,000 lbs, Ryan has attained speeds of more than 100 mph.
“Fiesta de Camioneros” or “The Truck Show Latino” is the only major U.S. Truck Show designed for the Latino trucker. New this year, and being held in conjunction with The Truck Show Latino is the Construction and Equipment Expo sponsored by the California Dump Truck Owners Association. Combined attendance in expected to exceed over 10,000 visitors. Truck Show Latino will be giving away a Ford pick up truck on the last day of the show.
There are 280,000 Hispanic owner-operators and 72,000 Hispanic-owned truck companies in the United States.
Hours for this weekend’s shows are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
