The 2007 Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW ’07) will offer a comprehensive education program addressing industry trends and technological advances designed to exceed the high
standards set by the successful program at the first-ever HDAW held this year.
HDAW 2007 will be held Monday, Jan. 22, through Thursday, Jan. 25, at The Mirage in Las Vegas.
Under the leadership of education committee chairmen – Dave Scheer, president of Inland Truck Parts, and John Flad, vice president of aftermarket sales, Bendix CVS – the committee of industry leaders has met several times over the past months. It also has conducted a survey of both previous HDAW attendees and non-attendees to ascertain the hot topics.
The HDAW ’07 opening morning session on Tuesday, Jan. 23, will be a program titled “The Heavy Duty Aftermarket Forum,” hosted by Stu MacKay of MacKay & Co, with an economic forecast for 2007 and a comprehensive assessment of five major trends facing industry:

• Distribution channel cost compression
• Distribution flow acceleration
• Supplier consolidation
• Customer consolidation
• Competitive distribution consolidation.

On the afternoons of Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 23-24, four one-hour sessions will be offered in the highly rated “HDAW Business/Technical Theater” on the exhibition floor. Issues addressed will include best practices and technical updates as ranked by the survey respondents.
