Aug. 21-27th is "National Truck Driver Appreciation Week" and the Safety Wins team invites individuals who drive as part of their job to attend a free driver safety training class at the Michigan International Speedway
in Brooklyn, Mich., on Friday Aug. 19, 2005.
The full day begins at 9 a.m. and includes a half day of defensive driver education conducted by a certified National Safety Council trainer and a session that cross-references highway and NASCAR safety by Busch series racecar driver and Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s spotter, Jimmy Kitchens. Also included are tickets to the afternoon’s Busch and Nextel Cup practices, as well as the ARCA race later that day. Morning snacks and refreshments are also provided.
This is a unique opportunity for drivers to receive sound safety education and for employers to encourage a positive safety culture in the workplace. These events are at no cost because the program is presently funded with a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor and the Safety Wins partners. Refreshments are provided in the morning and lunch is on your own. To register for this event, go to www.safetywins.org.
Only 135 seats available and are first-come, first-served. A PDF brochure with all details about training day is available on the web site.
