Central Freight Lines announced last week that Ansell Healthcare Products LLC,
a provider of healthcare-related latex protective products, has selected Central for North American LTL
transportation services.
The agreement marks Ansell's move away from a national LTL provider to multiple venue, super-regional Central Freight. Andy Gillespie, director of transportation at Ansell, cited several reasons for making the switch: "We were looking for faster service with fewer losses and damages. By partnering with Central, we eliminated break-bulk handling and the inherent loss of transit time."
"We are seeing more and more interest from companies who realize that regional carriers with flexible work rules are better suited to today's on-demand supply chains. Shippers also realize that competition is good, and the consolidation taking place within the industry ultimately means fewer choices and higher prices," said Richard Stolz, Central's senior vice president of sales and marketing.
