The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) 2005 Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress & Exhibition is scheduled for Nov. 1-3 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont
, Ill. The chairperson for this year’s event is Peter Karlsten, president and CEO of Volvo Trucks North America Inc. Featured will be a Global CEO Panel addressing the past, present and future of engineering. Already confirmed for the panel are Daniel C. Ustian, chairman, president and CEO, International Truck & Engine; and Jorma Halonen, executive vice president and deputy CEO, AB Volvo.
The inaugural SAE Congress & Exhibition held in 2004 drew more than 3,000 attendees and 165 exhibitors in 31,000 square feet of space. The event was created primarily to serve as a networking and learning opportunity for industry professionals including engineers, suppliers and manufacturers from both the truck and off-highway sectors.
SAE is a nonprofit engineering and scientific organization dedicated to the advancement of mobility technology to better serve humanity. More than 89,000 engineers and scientists who are SAE members develop technical information on all forms of self-propelled vehicles, including automobiles, aircraft, aerospace craft, trucks, buses, marine, rail and transit machinery.
