Western regional carrier Motor Cargo Industries Inc. last week announced the reduction of transit times covering more than 4,000 lanes
, drawing shippers from Boston to Atlanta to within four days of select West Coast locations.
According to Motor Cargo president Peter H. Morrow, the new transit times take full advantage of Motor Cargo’s strategic alliance with Overnite Transportation, the Virginia-based LTL carrier.
A representative sampling of the new transit times finds goods shipped from select Southern California markets delivered into the Atlanta area within four days; Reno, Nev., to Boston in four days; and Boise, Ida. to metro New York in four days.
Phoenix to Kansas City has been reduced to three days.
"Most importantly, Motor Cargo customers will experience true seamless transit with shipments moving through the combined Motor Cargo/Overnite system under one manifest, one invoice and one-call capability for tracing and tracking from pickup to delivery," Morrow said.
