TNT Logistics North America has received a “Hurricane Hero” award from The Home Depot for its efforts during the hurricanes that hit Florida and the Southeast in August and September.

TNT Logistics and its employees rallied resources and energies to keep building materials and other hurricane supplies moving before and after hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne – in addition to Tropical Storm Bonnie.
TNT Logistics normally provides The Home Depot delivery of home improvement products destined for homes and construction sites in Florida. However, when each storm threatened, TNT Logistics began diverting drivers and trucks based in Cape Coral, Lake Worth and Hollywood. Its employees started handling deliveries of plywood, nails, other building materials and power generators diverted from other Home Depot stores. Some loads originated as far away as Ohio.
In the aftermath of the storms, deliveries continued as the rebuilding process began, with emphasis shifted to South and Central Florida, where the principal storm damage was done. During the six weeks before and after the storms, TNT Logistics handled more than 400 truckloads of this high priority material.
“We are ecstatic to receive this award from The Home Depot,” said Jeff Hurley, chief operating officer, TNT Logistics North America. “However, the real heroes are our employees, who selflessly put the needs of the community and their neighbors ahead of their own in helping out during a very stressful and chaotic time.”
