Freightliner Trucks, International, Kenworth, Mack Trucks, Peterbilt Motors Co., Volvo Trucks North America Inc., and Ford have signed up for the 2004 International Trucking Show (ITS) in Anaheim, Calif., Sept. 23-25.

Those leading U.S. original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) join a group of trucking industry exhibitors featured at the show, now in its 43rd year and returning to Anaheim under new management after eight years in Las Vegas.
"Buyers come to our show to kick the tires, and they’re going to be really excited this year," said Joel D. Anderson, EVP/CEO of the California Trucking Assn., which founded the show in 1961.
"We have the equipment they want to see," Anderson said. "We have the equipment they want to compare. And, we have the equipment they want to buy."
More than 400 exhibitors from throughout California, the U.S. and international commercial trucking industry are expected to participate in ITS.
Located within an hour of almost 100,000 Californians who work in every area of commercial trucking, the 2004 ITS is the largest commercial trucking show and exposition west of the Mississippi River. It offers three days of marketplace exposure to qualified buyers in the most concentrated medium and heavy-duty truck market in the United States.
Dennis Firestone, president of K.K.W. Trucking Inc., a 270-truck company based in Pomona, California, said the International Trucking Show was a convenient and efficient way to do his company’s buying.
"I can do buying in two days at the International Trucking Show that would ordinarily take me three months, in terms of identifying players, scheduling, comparisons and pricing," Firestone said. "All of that’s done for you at the International Trucking Show."
Firestone added that the show’s Southern California location this year will make it easy for companies in the most concentrated medium and heavy-duty truck market in the U.S. to send more representatives to the show – thus adding more value to their participation.
"Because the show’s not in Las Vegas or back East, I can bring my shop guys, my fleet managers and other key management people," he said.
Additionally, the show’s events, seminars and workshops are designed to help participants run their businesses more profitably. All revenue from the show is reported to the CTA board of directors, and goes to activities and programs that directly benefit the California trucking industry.
This year’s show is being held near Disneyland, and close to a range of hotel accommodations.
