Jevic Transportation Inc., a subsidiary of SCS Transportation has been approved under the Canadian Customs Self-Assessment (CSA) and Partners in Protection (PIP) programs
as a Canadian CSA and FAST approved carrier.
In April of this year, Jevic was certified by U.S. Customs and Border Protection as a partner in the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.
Jevic President and CEO Paul J. Karvois said, "Our participation underscores the company's commitment to meeting the stringent security standards set forth by both countries and our focus on advancing supply chain security."
These certifications enable Jevic to take part in the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program, a joint effort between the U.S. and Canada. FAST is designed to ensure security and safety while enhancing the economic prosperity of both countries by expediting the screening and clearing of shipments across the border.
In order to qualify for FAST approval, a carrier must meet the requirements of the PIP and C-TPAT programs. This includes a thorough review of its security and document control processes and audit trails. In addition, the company had to demonstrate a history of compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
