Swift Transportation, Phoenix, Ariz., has hired Dan Beers as executive vice president of Swift Intermodal, and Mark Young as vice president Swift Intermodal.

Both are new positions within the company.
Beers will report directly to Jerry Moyes, Swift's chief executive officer, and will be responsible for all aspects of Swift's growing intermodal business. "Dan and Mark are great additions to the Swift team," said Moyes.
Gary Enzor, Swift's CFO, said, "Intermodal provides us with a higher return on investment than other more asset-intensive lines of business and we stand ready to make the necessary investments in the required people, technology, and intermodal assets to significantly grow our $40 million intermodal base."
Beers brings more than 20 years of transportation experience to his new role. He comes to Swift from TFM Railroad, where he served as senior vice president of intermodal automotive. Beers was based in Mexico City, and had responsibility for sales and operations for TFM's intermodal and automotive business units.
Young has held senior roles at ABF Freight Systems, CSX Intermodal and the HUB Group, before joining The Fennimore Group last year as a senior consultant working with transportation companies.
