Billings Freight Systems Inc. has announced a major restructuring of its company along organizational lines.

The 81-year-old less-than-truckload carrier, based in Lexington, N.C., is repositioning itself in the transportation market in response to major changes in the market place, to meet the changing needs of its customers and to facilitate the company's growth plans.
Mike Albert, president of the newly formed Billings Transportation Group Inc., said, "Our plan of re-organization was designed to assure no disruption in Billings' service or operations and to provide a seamless transition for our customers. We are positioning ourselves for the future and intend to increase our marketing efforts, expand our territory, and increase our market share."
A new holding company, Billings Transportation Group Inc., has been formed and initially will provide support services for three business units. Officers include Mike Albert, president; Wayne Bersch, vice president of operations; Steve Kitterman, vice president of sales and marketing; and Karl Kapp, chief financial officer and treasurer.
The new business units include Billings Freight Systems Inc., Billings Express Inc. and BFS Global.
