The Rochelle Petro Stopping Center in Rochelle, Ill., has added a Stars and Stripes Truck Beauty Contest to its July 6 Driver Appreciation Day.
In addition to the truck show, activities will include a pig roast, blood drive, trucker games, music by Joey Holiday and vendor exhibits. Activities will start at noon.
Last year, the Rochelle Petro collected more blood in the "Drive to Save Lives" program for the American Red Cross than any other Petro Stopping Center. They hope to retain their title with a good turnout at this year's event.
The Rochelle Petro is located on I-39 at Exit 99 and Route 38 in Rochelle. Opened in 1992, the Rochelle Petro is a premier full-service travel plaza providing more than 400 truck parking spaces, 16 private drivers showers, an Iron Skillet Restaurant, Petro Travel Store and PetroLube truck service center.
