FedEx Ground, an operating company of FedEx Corp., will be building a new local terminal in Augusta, Ga.

FedEx Ground will relocate to a new 38,000 square-foot facility from its current 2,300 square-foot operations in North Augusta, S.C. Scheduled for completion in August 2004, the expanded terminal will house a workforce of more than 70 employees and independent contractors within three years.
The Augusta relocation is part of the company's $1.8 billion network expansion plan. The investment calls for the addition of nine new hubs and the expansion of 30 existing hubs, as well as the relocation or expansion of more than 290 pickup and delivery terminals by the end of fiscal year 2010.
