Star Transportation recently implemented a new pay increase of 32 cents per mile for company drivers with one year of experience.

"Our goals at Star are to accommodate the needs of our drivers and reward experience. We are very excited about the new pay plan and anticipate attracting safe, dependable drivers," said Mike Salyers, director of driver resources.
Star recognizes that there are numerous factors that contribute to a driver’s overall satisfaction with a job including wages, benefits, time at home, and the type of equipment they have. In addition to competitive wages and accessorial pay, Star has a benefits package that offers drivers affordable insurance, a fully funded profit-sharing program, a 401(k) plan and up to three weeks paid vacation. Company drivers also enjoy performance bonuses and safety awards.
More than 95% of Star’s drivers are home weekly. The company’s flexible rider program allows an authorized adult and children to accompany drivers.
Star’s fleet of more than 500 tractors contains late-model raised-roof Freightliners and Volvos with Qualcomm satellite communication systems.
Star Transportation is an irregular route dry van carrier headquartered in Nashville, Tenn. It has terminals in Memphis, Tenn. and Jackson, Miss., with drop yards in Knoxville, Tenn., Bristol, Tenn. and Atlanta, Ga.
