Transport Corp. of America Inc. plans to ensure the security of its freight management system by incorporating the Contouring Engine into network security at the company.
Transport America is a Minneapolis-based hauler for department store merchandise, grocery, industrial, consumer, paper products and expedited services. The company relies on information systems and satellite-based communications to process orders, optimize scheduling, dispatch loads and monitor loads in transit.
The Contouring Engine, developed by Prodigen, LLC, is the first technology that monitors the activity of trusted users -- typically employees with passwords giving them access to a wide variety of proprietary network systems.
"The Contouring Engine is a unique tool that solves a major business issue by going beyond traditional defensive measures, and providing the opportunity to identify firewall breaches and other security threats," says Keith Klein, chief financial officer and chief information officer of Transport America.
