Trailer Bridge Inc., Jacksonville, Fla., has successfully transitioned from ISO 9001:1994 to the new ISO standard 9001-2000.
The company believes it is the first Puerto Rico carrier to be certified under this new quality standard.

ISO certified companies are required to be certified under the new revised standard no later than Dec. 31, 2003. ISO 9000 is a series of standards dealing with quality management systems published by the International Standardization Organization. The company has been certified to these standards by DNV since 1998. Under the newly revised standards greater emphasis is placed on identifying processes, their interrelationship, and how they function as a system. Trailer Bridge identified and defined these processes throughout the organization and expects this quality systems approach to continue to help achieve common objectives.
Trailer Bridge provides integrated trucking and marine freight service to and from all points in the lower 48 states and Puerto Rico, bringing efficiency, environmental and safety benefits to domestic cargo in that traffic lane. This total transportation system utilizes its own trucks, drivers, trailers, containers and U.S. flag vessels to link the mainland with Puerto Rico via marine facilities in Jacksonville and San Juan.
