New Penn Motor Express Inc. of Lebanon, Pa., delivered thousands of shipments 100% on time to receive the 2002 LTL carrier award from the WPG Shippers Assn.

New Penn provides pool distribution services for WPG. Truckload carriers bring consolidations of less-than-truckload shipments to New Penn facilities. Same-day and next-day delivery is then provided by New Penn throughout the northeastern United States.
This is the third consecutive year New Penn has received the top LTL award from WPG for providing 100% on-time service.
New Penn outperformed next-day regional LTL distribution carriers from throughout the U.S. to receive the highest score in the annual WPG carrier evaluation process. WPG uses a system of objective and subjective criteria to evaluate its carriers.
The criteria include on-time delivery, on-time status updates of the WPG web site, prompt unloading, same day delivery within a designated area and overall customer service attitude.
WPG President John Wilkinson said, "The consistency of New Penn's service is remarkable. To achieve 100% on-time service for one year is noteworthy, but to do so for three consecutive years is truly an achievement."
"We sincerely appreciate being recognized by WPG. Our award-winning service is the result of developing the best team in the industry and providing them with the latest information technology tools to get the job done for our customers," said New Penn President Steve O'Kane.
WPG, headquartered in Neenah, Wis., is a not-for-profit organization established in 1934. It provides transportation and logistic services for nearly 80 member companies who are leaders in the paper, plastics and other manufacturing industries.
New Penn Motor Express Inc. is an independently operated subsidiary of Roadway Corp.
