New Department of Transportation regulations require hazmat transporters to develop security plans by September of this year.

The American Trucking Assns. is offering a one-day training seminar on June 9 to help carriers develop site specific hazmat security plans that comply with the new regulations.
Cost of the seminar is $99 for ATA members and $149 for non-members.
Those attending the seminar will learn what HM-232 requires of motor carriers and receive step-by-step instruction on how to develop a security plan that complies with HM-232.
They will also receive written materials to help develop individual site specific security plans in compliance with HM-232 and learn how to conduct a vulnerability assessment of their operations, among other issues.
The seminar will be conducted by Jack Legler, ATA’s director of security, and will feature a discussion with Susan Gorsky from DOT's Research and Special Programs Administration.
Registration and continental breakfast will be held at 8:30 a.m. The seminar will conclude at 3:30 p.m.
