U.S. Xpress Enterprises Inc. has announced that the company is changing the name of its CSI/Crown subsidiary to Xpress Global Systems Inc.

The name change was effective on Jan. 1, and reflects the growth and diversification of services provided by the CSI/Crown subsidiary, which includes the airport-to-airport expedited service offered through Dedicated Xpress Services Inc.
"The name CSI/Crown is very well-known throughout the transportation industry as the leading provider of logistics solutions to the floor coverings industry," said U.S. Xpress Co-Chairman Patrick E. Quinn. "At the same time, we have developed a very competitive airport-to-airport expedited business over the past couple of years that features LTL services, along with warehousing and pool distribution, in an effort to more fully maximize our resources.
"Since February 2001, this operating group has become much more than a floor covering logistics leader," Quinn said. "They are a very diversified service provider, and we believe the time has arrived to develop a brand name that is reflective of those services. Xpress Global Systems gives us that name to go with the experience and success that we have built within this group through the years."
The services formerly provided by CSI/Crown, Dedicated Xpress Services Inc. (DXSI) and Xpress Direct will be operated under the Xpress Global Systems umbrella. Tunnel Hill, Ga., will serve as the headquarters for the operation, which is being led by Bill Lusk, a respected veteran of truckload, expedited transit, and floor covering logistics enterprises within the company.
"This is a very exciting time for all of us," said Lusk, who will serve as president of Xpress Global Systems. "Through what has been built with CSI/Crown, we have more than 33 years of experience in what has become the leading logistics provider in the floor covering industry.
Commenting on the name change, U.S. Xpress Co-Chairman Max Fuller said, "When you look at all the areas we touch as a business and all the areas we reach, we are truly a global business. For instance, Xpress Global Systems features the resources and expertise necessary to provide local and regional distribution, build truckload consolidations and move expedited LTL shipments, as well as consolidation, merge-in-transit, transloading and other delivery services for a variety of products and industries. Xpress Global Systems works directly with our customers to use our facilities to assemble and distribute shipments, as and when required, and deliver them on time and intact."
