Comdata Corp. has been honored by FedEx Express, an operating company of FedEx Corp., receiving its Global Strategic Supplier Symposium Excellence Award.

Comdata is FedEx's exclusive provider of vehicle-fuels fleet card and supply chain management services, and was among some 175 FedEx Express suppliers eligible for the award.
"This award is FedEx's highest honor for service by its suppliers, and the Comdata family is extremely pleased to have received this recognition by the world's largest express transportation company," said Frank Adelman, executive vice president and general manager of transportation services for Comdata.
"Prior to 2001, FedEx Express was purchasing fuel for its fleet of 55,000 vehicles from multiple suppliers at 150,000 sites in 350,000 monthly transactions involving 1,000 cost centers," said Chris Bolen, manager of fuel administration for FedEx Express. "It was our strategic goal to consolidate, merge and streamline this process into a single card solution. Comdata developed and implemented the action plan, provided the solution, supplied the resources and surpassed our savings objectives. Today, FedEx clears 80% of all vehicle fuel dollars through Comdata."
Comdata became the exclusive fuel card supplier for FedEx Express in 2001, and has issued more than 50,000 Comdata MasterCard Corporate Fleet Cards to its driver workforce. The Comdata MasterCard Corporate Fleet Card, coupled with supply chain management services from TransMontaigne, streamlines terminal, network and commercial fuel purchases by consolidating all billing detail on a single invoice.
