The Michigan Department of Transportation will switch traffic on I-75 near Flint starting Wednesday, July 17, as part of a freeway reconstruction project.

Road crews will switch southbound I-75 traffic to northbound I-75 lanes on Wednesday. Southbound lanes will be closed briefly while traffic is shifted.
To accommodate weekend traffic patterns, five lanes separated by a moveable concrete barrier wall will be maintained on I-75. Three lanes of northbound traffic and two lanes of southbound traffic will be maintained Wednesday afternoon through Saturday morning. Two lanes of northbound traffic and three lanes of southbound traffic will be maintained Saturday afternoon
through the morning of Wednesday, July 24.
In addition, the Clio rest area will be closed during the reconstruction of southbound lanes until November.
I-75 between the north I-475 interchange and M-57 (Vienna Road) is being reconstructed and widened in both directions from three lanes to four.
Southbound I-75 is being reconstructed this year. The reconstruction of northbound I-75 in this location is scheduled for next year.
