ABF U-Pack Moving will be featured nationwide this month on the Fox Cable News Channel.

Television celebrity and football commentator Pat Summerall will interview ABF President and CEO David Stubblefield for "Summerall Success Stories," a series highlighting entrepreneurial organizations successful at carving out new markets through the introduction of innovative products and services.
During the two-minute segment, which will appear March 20 between 5:30-6 p.m., eastern standard time, Summerall describes U-Pack as "a new type of moving service aimed at saving the customer money." U-Pack Moving offers space on ABF commercial freight trailers to individuals planning a long-distance move. Customers reduce moving expenses by packing and loading the trailer themselves, but they do not have to drive the truck, pay for gas or concern themselves with equipment failure.
"ABF is a well-respected company with 75 years of commercial freight experience, and now they offer a less expensive moving alternative. Since its launch in 1997, U-Pack's business has doubled in both 1998 and 1999, and business grew 70% in 2001. ABF U-Pack was a clear choice for the Summerall Success Story selection," said Kimberly Banks with Pat Summerall Productions.
Traditional moving companies have criticized ABF's U-Pack and a similar service, CFMovesU, from Consolidated Freightways, saying customers who use these services aren't provided the same consumer protection as they are with van lines, which are regulated differently.
