Missouri officials and PrePass are reportedly close to finalizing a deal to install PrePass pre-clearance systems at Missouri weigh stations.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Missouri Department of Transportation officials and PrePass officials are optimistic that a deal will be wrapped up within the next two months. It could be up and running by the end of the year.
The system would be installed at 19 locations in the state, with some locations featuring weigh-in-motion scales embedded in the highway lanes.
Missouri Motor Carrier Assn. officials expressed support for the venture.
PrePass weigh station bypass systems, which use a transponder to allow participating operators to be pre-screened, have been installed in 23 other states.
