Roads Closed Following Trade Center Attack

According to the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Assn., the status of roads in the New York area following Tuesday's attack on the World Trade Center was as follows as of 7 p.m. EDT:


There is no access from New Jersey into New York except via Northern Bergen County/Rockland County. The Tappan Zee Bridge is open, as is I-87/I-287

Holland Tunnel - closed both ways
Lincoln Tunnel - closed both ways
George Washington Bridge - NJ bound GW Bridge upper level is open/eastbound remains closed - NY bound
Bayonne Bridge - open NJ Northbound only
Goethals Bridge -open NJ Westbound only
Outerbridge Crossing -open NJ Westbound only

MTA Bridge and Tunnel Crossings:
Brooklyn Battery Tunnel - closed both ways until further notice
Queens Midtown Tunnel - closed to trucks
Triboro Bridge - closed into Manhattan - open to Queens from Manhattan - closed into Queens from the Bronx
Throgs Neck Bridge - closed northbound (Bronx bound only)
Bronx Whitestone Bridge - closed N/B - Bronx bound only
Verrazano Narrows Bridge - open westbound only Toll suspended
Henry Hudson Bridge - closed southbound (Manhattan bound) only
Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge - closed both ways
Marine Parkway Bridge - closed Northbound (Brooklyn bound Only)

NY State Bridge Authority:
Bear Mountain Bridge - open
Newburgh Beacon Bridge (I-84) - open

NY City Crossings:
Brooklyn Bridge - closed both ways
Manhattan Bridge - closed both ways
Williamsburg Bridge - closed to Manhattan bound only
Queensboro Bridge - upper level open both ways - lower level Manhattan bound closed - eastbound open

Long Island:
Westbound Northern and Southern ParkwayÿFFFF92s closed at Queens/Nassau Border.
Westbound Long Island Expressway closed between exit 53 (Sagtikos) - Queens Line.

Westchester County:
Southbound NY State Thruway (Greenburgh) closed at exit 8 - traffic diverted to I-287
Southbound NY State Thruway closed at exit 1 (Yonkers)

New Jersey:
Pulaski Skyway - New York Bound/Northbound 1&9 closed

Bergen County:
Eastbound 4 closed at Jones Road (Englewood)
Eastbound 46 closed at 5th Street (Fort Lee)
Eastbound I-80 Express Lanes closed in Saddle Brook-local lanes are open
Eastbound 3 closed near Giants Stadium (Rutherford)

Middlesex County: Northbound 440 closed at US 9 (Woodbridge)
Hudson County: Northbound Truck 1&9 closed at Hackensack Avenue (Kearny)
Eastbound 3 closed new Giants Stadium (Rutherford)

NJ Turnpike
Eastern Spur closed both ways between Interchange 14 and I-80 - Western Spur is open
Northbound NJ Turnpike traffic released at Interchange 11 (Woodbridge, NJ) - Interchange 13a (Elizabeth) closed - exit only
80/95 closed both ways between GW Bridge and I-80
