Monday, Sept. 10, weather permitting, a $2.7 million project will begin to resurface and patch a 3.2-mile stretch of U.S. 41 in the Chicago area.

The project stretches from I-94 to West Park Avenue in Highland Park and Northbrook. The first part of the project will involve moving, daily lane closures on the section of U.S. 41 from north of Clavey Road to West Park Avenue as asphalt patching, milling and resurfacing is done.
The section of U.S. 41 between Clavey Road and I-94 will undergo concrete patching work only, beginnin in late September or early October, and will require permanent lane closures during four consecutive weekends.
Heavy traffic congestion is expected. The project will continue through mid-November.
