The first phase of I-80 resurfacing product in the Joliet, Ill., area is finished, and the next phase will begin after Labor Day.

All lanes on I-80 between Rowell Street and Houboult Avenue are re-open to traffic, although some nighttime-only work will continue on this section.
Phase II of the $9.6 million, 8.4-mile project will begin Sept. 4 and continue through mid-October. It will involve the resurfacing of I-80 from Houboult Ave. to the Will-Grundy county line. When this construction starts, I-80 will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
