From Maryland into Virginia, expect delays from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. May 18. Delays of up to 30 minutes are predicted.
Authorities advise taking the American Legion Bridge or U.S. 301 instead of the Wilson Bridge.
The work is necessary because the drawbridge is deteriorating so badly that it can't wait to be replaced by the new bridge in a few years.
