The company formerly known as U.S. Trucking plans to acquire Trans-Logistics of Tampa, Fla.

U.S. Trucking last year filed bankruptcy and liquidated its four subsidiaries: UST Logistics, Mencor Inc., Prostar Inc. and Gulf Northern Transport. The company changed its name to Logistics Management Resources and moved to Louisville, Ky., with a plan to rebuild by focusing on an agent system rather than owning trucks.
Recently Logistics Management announced its plans to acquire Trans-Logistics to help "provide the non-asset-based platform we were seeking in growing our business," said Chairman and CEO Dan Pixler.
"Trans-Logistics Inc. enjoys a solid reputation in the logistics services business," Pixler said. "With facilities in Florida, Georgia and Kentucky, they are well positioned to be our cornerstone acquisition."
The acquisition is scheduled to close on or before March 5.
