U.S. Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater today will deliver an address on the Clinton administration's transportation accomplishments and the challenges facing the new administration in transportation policy as he chairs a panel discussion at the 2001 Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting.

Joining Secretary Slater in the panel discussion will be William T. Coleman, former U.S. transportation secretary; John Mason, mayor of Fairfax, Va., and chairman of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments; and Lillian Borrone, port commerce director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Secretary Slater also will release two reports that discuss changes in the U.S. transportation system over the past half-century and present a vision of the future of transportation policy: The Changing Face of Transportation and Transportation Decision Making -- a Policy Architecture for the 21st Century.
The meeting is being held at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C.
