International Transit, the trucking subsidiary of Florida East Coast Industries, recently changed its name to Florida Express Carriers.

FLX president Tom Connard, who joined the company in April 2000, says the name change reflects the company's new business focus on South Florida. FLX has also relocated its headquarters from Cincinnati, Ohio, to Jacksonville.
FLX serves the Southeast, concentrating on lanes in Atlanta; Birmingham, Ala.; and Charlotte, N.C., to Florida. The company will be providing truckload service throughout Florida, as well as intermodal connection to FEC Railway at Jacksonville.
