Marten Transport will soon offer "real-time" shipment tracking over the Internet, plus a new way for its drivers to get road information.

Edgewater Technology is handling the new high-tech services.
The "real-time" shipment tracking system being built by Edgewater uses the GPS tracking system currently in place. However, the new Internet-based solution will allow customers to track shipments by logging on to Marten's Internet site and requesting real-time information relating to a shipment's location and delivery status.
An Interactive Voice Response system for Marten's fleet of drivers will allow them to easily access road service information. The new IVR system will allow drivers to quickly report any problems on the road, including breakdowns, equipment malfunction or road conditions, and lets dispatchers direct them to a service area or propose a new route.
