For the 18th year, the Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, IA, will show its appreciation to the hundreds of truckers that frequent the facility for food, supplies and fuel. The 1997 Walcott Truckers Jamboree has been scheduled for July 10-11, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The event will include such entertainment as the Trucker Olympic Games, sponsored by Truckers News, John Deere Insurance’s Nascar simulator and CFI’s T2000 Kenworth Red Racer. Drivers can also participate in the Super Truck Beauty Contest, listing to country music, eat Iowa pork chops or browse 200 exhibits and rows of restored antique trucks.
More than 20,000 truckers and their families are expected to attend the free event. For more information, call (319) 284-6965.
