The New York Thruway Authority has announced that truck tolls will be increased on the Tappan Zee Bridge.
For E-Z Pass customers, truck tolls will be increased from $3 to $6 during rush hours — 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. — while the toll will be $6 24 hours a day for non E-Z pass commercial customers. The toll for 5 axle vehicles will rise from $10 to $20 during rush hours.
Though the New York Trucking Assn. has testified against the increase, the Thruway Authority has stood by the increases in an effort to reduce congestion.
