The Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of American History has added Roadway Express Online to its permanent research collection. The Akron-based motor carrier is being honored for the innovative use of information technology on its web site.
Located at http://www.roadway.com, the site features E-Z Rate, which allows customers to obtain instant rate quotes and rate tables; Quiktrack, which offers real-time shipment tracking; and a shipping information center, which details the company’s products, service and information technologies.
Roadway Express Online was also nominated for the Computerworld Smithsonian awards which honor those that use information technology to create positive social, economic and educational progress.
