A North Carolina trucking firm is closing its doors, putting 340 people out of work.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Conover-based W&L Motor Lines confirmed the closure last week.
W&L said it will handle all freight in its system through Oct. 20, and KTL Truck Lines of Largo, Fla., will assist so there is no disruption in service. KTL and W&L have the same owner and W&L officials say KTL will take over the company’s Conover terminal.
W&L did not cite a reason for its closure, but high fuel costs and interest rates have been problems for many trucking companies in recent months.
