The Virginia Department of Transportation is continuing an extensive reconstruction project on what has become known as the "Mixing Bowl" this week, and is shutting down lanes on I-95 near the Springfield Interchange.

One lane will be closed on the northbound side of I-95 from Exit 169 to Commerce Street Bridge, which is under construction, while two lanes will be shut down from Route 644 to the bridge as well.
On I-95’s southbound side, one lane will be closed on the stretch from the Commerce Street Bridge to the Franconia-Springfield Parkway, along with the two left southbound lanes between the I-495 Beltway and Route 644 for bridgework and steel erection.
