The Eaton Clutch Division (formerly Spicer Clutch) recently celebrated 10 years of supporting a trucker appreciation day held by a local dealer and truckstop outside Fremont, Ind.

The Trucker Appreciation Day is held jointly by Western Star dealer Gulick Truck Parts and Service and the adjoining Angola Travelers' Mall. This year's event featured 46 sponsors.
Irv Gulick says the Eaton clutch people "have been a true partner over the years. They originally came to us asking to do some free clutch adjustments, and that's how the whole idea of trucker appreciation began."
Drivers visiting the site at the intersection of I-80 and I-69 at the end of August were treated to a chicken barbecue dinner, door prized, live music, and free clutch adjustments.
"Our engineers completed 36 adjustments over the two-day event," said John Aldrich with Eaton.
Gulick also notes that over the years the event has raised more than $100,000 for local charities. In addition, he says, local residents who come out and take part in the celebration leave with a better understanding of the trucking industry.
