Trucking software provider TMW Systems of Cleveland, Ohio, has announced an agreement with Matlack to convert the bulk carrier’s operations management software to the TMW PowerSuite system on the NT platform.
“Frankly, we wanted to go to a graphical user interface that would give us better ease of use and better visibility—i.e., visible mapping of our resources,” said Michael O’Donoghue, Vice President of Information Services at Matlack.
Matlack also wanted to be able to integrate e-mail and the Internet.
“We saw it coming as we monitored our customers’ needs, so we were looking for a system that would let us bring the Internet into our daily operations,” said O’Donoghue.
Matlack, Inc., a 1,200-tractor liquid bulk tank carrier serving the chemical industry, is based in Wilmington, Del., with 60 locations in the U.S. and Canada. The company has been in business more than 100 years, employs 1,800 people and last year earned $200 million in revenue.
