The Virginia Department of Transportation announced the following lane closures for Monday, Sept. 25, through Friday, Sept. 29, while work continues on the huge Springfield interchange project.

I-95 northbound:
* One lane will be closed from Exit 169 to the Commerce Street Bridge, Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday 9:30 a.m. to noon.
* Two lanes will be closed from Old Keene Bill Road (Route 644) to the Commerce Street Bridge, Monday through Thursday, 9:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
I-95 southbound:
* One lane will be closed from the Commerce Street Bridge to the Franconia-Springfield Parkway, Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday 9:30 a.m. to noon.
* The two left I-95 southbound lanes will be closed between I-495 (the Capital Beltway) and Old Keene Mill Road (Route 644) Monday through Thursday 9:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Expect complete intermittent 15 to 20 minute stoppages in all lanes after midnight. Springfield Exit 169 remains open unless back-up traffic during the intermittent stoppages prevents vehicles from exiting at 169. During the 15-20 intermittent stoppages, traffic may back-up onto the Capital Beltway (I-495). State police units will be on location to slow down traffic approaching the exit for I-95 south.
There will also be lane closures on local roads near the intersection.
