The Department of Transportation’s Research and Special Programs Administration will hold a public meeting Sept. 13 to discuss improved safety, reduced costs and increased customer service through RSPA’s management of the national hazardous materials transportation safety program.

The agency said it is specifically interested in comments on the kind and quality of services it currently provides, such as its Hazardous Materials Information Center, Internet Access, training, and government/industry partnerships. It is also seeking comments or suggestions regarding the processing of information requests, applications, registration statements and other administrative actions.
The meeting is being held in conjunction with a Hazardous Materials Multimodal Training Seminar Sept. 12 and 13, at the Sheraton Airport Hotel Cleveland, Cleveland, Ohio. Contact: Charles Betts, Office of Hazardous Materials Standards, (202) 366-8553.
