Trucks entering North Carolina on Interstate 95 from Virginia or South Carolina would have to come up with some spare change if a state senator has his way.

According to the Associated Press, Sen. Larry Shaw wants to make I-95 a toll road to raise money to repair and widen it. Another proposal in the Legislature would allow up to six toll roads or bridges to be built in North Carolina.
Shaw proposed putting toll booths at the Virginia and South Carolina lines in a bill filed last week. He said out-of-state people would pay the most tolls.
The toll amount is yet to be determined, but it would be no more than $10, according to the bill.
