Knight Income Rises, Despite Fuel Prices

Knight Transportation Inc., Phoenix, AZ had higher income for the first quarter, despite higher fuel prices. The fleet reported operating revenue of $43.6 million, up 30 percent from $33.5 million for the same quarter of 1999. Net income increased 9.9 percent to $3.9 million for the first quarter of 2000, compared to $3.5 million for the same period in 1999.
The company said higher fuel prices had an impact of approximately $0.05 per diluted share.
