Con-Way Central Express, Ann Arbor, MI, has opened a new freight service center covering the Charleston, WV, market. Located at 1100 River East Dr. in Belle, WV the facility will provide additional freight handling capacity and will also serve as a freight assembly center
in the Con-Way North American network.

The facility is expected to contribute to reduced transit times between markets to the north and south. The northern markets of PiIttsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania, eastern Kentucky and 98 percent of Ohio and the southern markets in North Carolina, southern Virginia and the
eastern end of Tennessee will be reduced by one day, resulting in next-day delivery. The transit times between these same northern markets and all of mid- and south Florida will now be two days, a reduction of a full day in delivery time.
Built on 17 acres of land, the new service center features 82 loading doors and a 3,500-square-foot dock. The facility will be managed by Dan Harmon.
