RPS, FDX Corp.'s business-to-business small-package ground carrier, plans to start offering residential delivery in March.
The service will cover 50% of the U.S. population, including all major metropolitan areas. It will feature late-afternoon, evening and Saturday deliveries in order to reach customers when they're home. Saturday is expected to be a big delivery day.
The RPS operation will use a separate delivery staff from Federal Express, FDX's principal operating subsidiary.
